What is a Duel Original?
"Originals" is Duel's name for the six games they designed in-house, Crash, Dice, Plinko, Mines, Blackjack and Beef. Unlike third-party slots (where Duel earns a margin from the slot provider), Originals are built and run entirely by Duel. That structural fact lets them set the house edge to whatever they want.
They set it to zero.

What does 100% RTP actually mean?
RTP (Return-To-Player) is the percentage of all wagered money that the game pays back over a large enough sample. A 96% RTP slot pays out $96 for every $100 wagered, on average, the house keeps the other $4. That $4 is the house edge.
A 100% RTP game pays out $100 for every $100 wagered. The house keeps nothing. Your expectation value is exactly your wager.
Variance still exists. Over a single session you can lose more than you wagered, or win more. But the mathematical expectation over many sessions converges on break-even. This is structurally different from any other crypto-casino product.
How is 100% RTP possible? Doesn't the casino need to make money?
Yes. Duel's revenue model for Originals isn't house edge, it's slot rakeback and tournament prize-pool funding.
- The vast majority of Duel's house margin comes from third-party slots (where Duel takes a cut of the slot provider's revenue share).
- Originals serve as a marketing and retention tool, not a profit center.
- Duel publicly states they don't need Originals to be profitable on their own, they need players to stay in the ecosystem.
This is unusual but not unprecedented. Several brokerage firms offer commission-free trading (loss-leader for other revenue). Duel is doing the casino equivalent.
Provably fair verification
Every Original round can be audited after the fact. Here's the mechanism in plain English:
- Before the round: Duel publishes the SHA-256 hash of a server seed. This commits Duel to that specific seed, they can't change it later.
- During the round: Your client seed plus a nonce (incrementing counter) combine with the server seed to deterministically produce the result.
- After the round: Duel reveals the server seed. You can run the hash yourself and confirm it matches what was committed. If it does, the result was not manipulated.
Our provably-fair verifier tool lets you check any past Originals round by pasting the seeds. Try it on your own rounds, it's the only way to internalize what "provably fair" actually means.
The Zero Edge daily cap (the nuance most reviewers skip)
The 100% RTP claim is honest, but it has a structural limit worth knowing about. Per Duel's in-app Zero Edge banner (verified May 2026), zero house edge applies up to a $50,000 daily wager limit per game, with a $1,000 single-bet limit. Once you exhaust the daily cap on a single Original, a 0.1% house edge applies on that game (99.9% RTP) until the 24-hour reset.
What this means in practice:
- Recreational bankrolls (under $50K/day per game): functional 100% RTP. The cap is well above what casual players ever reach in 24 hours. You will not see the edge kick in.
- High rollers approaching the cap: the 99.9% RTP post-cap is still structurally better than the 97% to 98% range at every competitor. Spreading across multiple Originals (the cap is per game, not per account) extends the zero-edge window.
- Why Duel sets the cap: with literal 0% edge and no cap, a coordinated player or bot could exploit pure variance across millions of dollars in wagers. The cap is a liability hedge, not a profit lever.
We disclose this because honesty about the math matters more than a cleaner headline. Other sites omit the cap entirely, ours included it from the source: Duel's own in-app banner.
Rakeback on Originals
On top of 100% RTP, Duel pays 5% rakeback on losing rounds. This makes Originals mathematically slightly positive expected value under casual variance. It is the only crypto-casino product where this is true.
For Blackjack specifically, the math is even better: 0.5% house edge offset by 80% rakeback gives an effective RTP of ~99.9%. Optimal-strategy Blackjack at Duel is functionally a zero-edge game.
Strategy notes per Original
- Crash, The optimal cash-out multiplier under a true 100% RTP distribution is around 2.0× for risk-balanced play. Higher multipliers have lower hit rates but the expectation is still 100%, the variance just gets brutal.
- Dice, Choose your over/under threshold to match risk tolerance. 50/50 is the lowest variance; 1% chance for massive multiplier is the highest. EV is identical at every setting.
- Plinko, Higher rows (16) and high-risk mode produce maximum multipliers. Low-risk 8-row mode is the smoothest variance.
- Mines, More mines = higher multipliers per safe tile + lower hit rate. With 1 mine and a single tile reveal you get tiny but near-certain multipliers; with 24 mines and 1 tile you get huge but lottery-grade chances.
- Duel Blackjack, Use basic strategy. Surrender on 16 vs 9, 10, A. Double on 11 vs anything. With 80% rakeback the effective edge is ~0.1%.
- Beef, Crash-style game with a cattle theme. Same math principles as Crash.
