Duel.com restricted countries, complete 2026 list

What is the short version?

Duel.com blocks players from a defined list of 42 countries that fall into three categories: Tier-1 regulated markets with strong domestic gambling regulators (US, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, etc.), FATF-sanctioned jurisdictions (Iran, North Korea, Syria, etc.), and specific high-risk territories.

Duel publishes the restricted list publicly. If your country is not on the list, you can play, but local gambling regulations may still apply to you regardless of what the operator accepts. We strongly recommend not using VPN circumvention; Duel's Terms of Service explicitly forbid it and they have grounds to forfeit balances if discovered.

Which countries can play at Duel.com?

Anything not on the restricted list above is technically accepted by Duel. In practice, these are the countries where we see meaningful player traffic and where Duel-accepted play is most common:

Why does Duel block these specific countries?

Three reasons cover the entire list:

1. Local regulator enforcement. Germany (GlüStV), France (ANJ), Italy (ADM), Spain (DGOJ), Netherlands (KSA), Sweden (SGA), UK (UKGC), US (state-by-state). These regulators move aggressively against offshore operators and Duel's Anjouan licence does not qualify under their rules. Italy alone blocked 11,400+ offshore gambling domains by September 2025.

In September 2025, eight EU regulators (UK, Italy, Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria) signed a coordinated enforcement coalition against offshore operators. All eight are on Duel's restricted list.

2. FATF sanctions. The Financial Action Task Force maintains a blacklist (Iran, North Korea) and a greylist of countries with AML deficiencies. Operators with offshore licences cannot service these jurisdictions without breaching their own AML compliance.

3. Licence jurisdiction self-exclusion. Anjouan-licensed operators are conventionally restricted from accepting players from the Comoros itself. This is standard practice.

What about VPN access from restricted countries?

Duel's Terms of Service explicitly prohibit VPN or proxy use that masks your real location. Quoted directly: players "may not use a VPN, proxy or similar services or devices that mask or manipulate the identification of your real location."

In practice, behavioral testing (see cryptogamble.com's $500 test) shows VPN enforcement is lax. Players from restricted countries have signed up via VPN, deposited and withdrawn without immediate issue.

But the contractual risk is real. If Duel detects a VPN at any point (large withdrawal review, payment provider check, IP audit), they have explicit grounds to close the account and forfeit balances. We do not recommend VPN circumvention from restricted countries. The math does not work: you risk all balance forfeiture in exchange for short-term play.

Restrictions vs local legality

An important distinction: Duel.com accepting your country does not mean playing at Duel.com is legal under your local law. Common scenarios:

• Turkey: Not on Duel's restricted list, but online gambling is illegal under Turkish law. Players who play face local legal risk independent of what Duel allows.
• Japan, South Korea: Not restricted by Duel, but locally illegal for residents to gamble online.
• India (PROGA 2025): Not on Duel's restricted list, but India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act 2025 explicitly criminalized crypto-gambling. India authorities blocked 8,400+ gambling sites in early 2026.
• Russia: Not restricted by Duel, but Russian law allows only domestic ЦУПИС-licensed sports betting and prohibits offshore casino play.

September 2025 European regulators coalition

This is the most significant regulatory development affecting Duel.com's restricted list. In September 2025, eight European regulators announced coordinated action against offshore operators:

• Dutch Kansspelautoriteit (KSA)
• French Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ)

• Portuguese SRIJ
• Austrian Finanzpolizei

The coalition publishes joint enforcement lists and coordinates ISP-level domain blocking. Operators on the wrong side face per-country fines plus payment-processor cooperation withdrawal. All eight markets are on Duel's restricted list.
