Last updated: May 21, 2026

If gambling stops being fun

Gambling should be entertainment. If it stops being fun, if you cannot stop when you intend to, if you are wagering money you cannot afford to lose, or if it is affecting your relationships, work, or sleep, please seek help. The resources below are free and confidential.

International helplines

Warning signs of problem gambling

  • Wagering more than you intended in a session.
  • Chasing losses with bigger bets to "win it back".
  • Lying to family or friends about your gambling.
  • Using money intended for bills or essentials to gamble.
  • Borrowing money to gamble.
  • Gambling more frequently than planned.
  • Feeling restless or irritable when not gambling.
  • Continuing to gamble despite negative consequences.

If two or more of these describe you, please contact one of the helplines above. They are free, confidential, and trained specifically for gambling-related concerns.

Self-exclusion at Duel.com

Duel.com does not currently offer platform-level self-exclusion tools (deposit limits, time-outs, loss limits, or self-exclusion). This is a meaningful weakness of the Anjouan licence, UKGC and MGA-licensed operators are required to offer these tools.

If you need self-exclusion, the practical option is to contact Duel live chat and request account closure. They will close the account; you can re-open it later but a manual review is required.

For multi-operator self-exclusion (excluding yourself from many casinos at once):

  • UK residents: GamStop covers UKGC-licensed operators. Not Duel (offshore).
  • European players: CRUKS (Netherlands), Spelpaus (Sweden), national exclusion registers.
  • Device-level blocking: Gamban blocks gambling sites on your devices. Works across all operators.

Personal limits, practical steps

Even without platform-enforced tools, you can set personal limits:

  • Decide a monthly budget before depositing. Never exceed it.
  • Withdraw winnings as soon as you have them, do not let balance accumulate.
  • Take breaks. Step away from sessions after a loss.
  • Never gamble when stressed, depressed, or drinking.
  • Tell someone about your gambling so accountability exists outside yourself.
