Why esports is Duel's strongest sportsbook category
Duel.com founder Ossi Ketola built CSGOEmpire from 2017, one of the original CS:GO skin-betting platforms. That genealogy means Duel's CS2 product is unusually deep. Map-by-map markets, round handicaps, first-blood props, pistol round outcomes, team kill totals, all standard.
For other esports (LoL, Dota 2, Valorant), depth is solid but not category-leading. Pinnacle and Stake match Duel on these. For CS2 specifically, Duel often has more markets than competitors.

CS2 markets in detail
On a major CS2 match (e.g. ESL Pro League final), Duel typically posts:
- Match winner (moneyline)
- Map handicap (e.g. -1.5 maps to favorite)
- Total maps over/under
- Map-by-map winner
- Map-by-map total rounds
- Round handicap per map
- First map winner
- Pistol round (round 1 and round 13) winner per map
- Map score correct (e.g. 16-12)
- First to N rounds per map
- Side win bias (CT vs T economic side bets)
- Player kills over/under (top fragger)
That's more granular than Stake, BC.Game or most generalist sportsbooks.
League of Legends and Dota 2
Standard market depth for both. Match winner, map (game) handicap, game totals, first blood, first to N kills/towers/dragons, baron control, total game time. Live in-play available for major leagues.
Where Duel falls short: composition-based props (e.g. "Will champion X be banned?"). These are niche markets that Pinnacle ignores too, but Stake occasionally has them.
Live in-play esports
Live odds update with low latency. Cash-out available on most major-event in-plays. Stream integration limited, for CS2 you usually need a separate Twitch tab. LoL and Dota 2 official tournament streams are sometimes embedded.
Odds margins on esports
Esports margins at Duel are around 5–7%, similar to traditional sports. For comparison, Pinnacle runs 2–4% on majors. Duel is fine for casual esports betting, not for value-hunting.
What's missing
- No "bet builder" for esports props, you can parlay multiple matches, but combining props within one match into a single bet is limited.
- No fantasy-style esports betting (combine player kills across multiple matches).
- Smaller/regional esports leagues sometimes lack markets entirely.
